Most informal sector businesses in Ghana are organized in Trade Associations. Apart from offering general business services to their members, Trade Associations are also involved in the supervision and (non-formal) certification of traditional apprenticeships. They therefore have a crucial function when it comes to improving informal sector skills training. GSDI aims at strengthening Trade Association’s role in vocational education as well as in improving their own organisational structures and services for their members.

Presently we are working with the following Trade Associations:

Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association, GNTDA

Regional Co-operative of Tailors and Dressmakers

National Association of Hairdressers and Beauticians, NABH
