The Ghana Skills Development Initiative (GSDI) welcomed new project staff at a planning workshop organized by the team at the Miklin Hotel in Accra from 8-10th January, 2018. The new members are part of GSDI’s up-scaling and will work in the new project regions, Eastern and Western Region, and support Agricultural Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ATVET) as a new component under GSDI.
The planning workshop was attended by Dr. Fred Asamoah, Executive Director of the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) as well as the Director in charge of Competency Based Training (CBT), Mr. Sampson Damptey.
GSDI Team Leader, Mr. Eike Dose, welcomed all the new team members and expressed an optimistic view concerning the work and impact of the team’s work in 2018. The Executive Director of COTVET also welcomed the new members, reiterated government’s commitment to TVET and commended the role of GSDI. “We appreciate GSDI’s contribution and expect a lot from the team this year”, he added.
The workshop was also attended by the GFA/PLANCO backstopping team, representatives from GIZ and the Ghana TVET Voucher Programme (GTVP).
