EMPLOYEE WELLBEING PROGRAMME

Employee Wellbeing Programme workshop held by GIZ and partners on peer education for Trade Associations from the 2nd to 4th September 2014  in Tamale

 

INTRODUCTION

This training workshop was organised by GIZ and partners from 2nd September to 4th September 2014 at Gariba Lodge in Tamale. The training workshop was attended by members of selected Trades in Welding, Automotive, Garments, Electronics and Cosmetology.  These included Trade Associations such as NARWOA; GESTA; NABH; GHABA; PETAG; GABBSO; GNAG; WAPAG; and GNTDA. The training was aimed at equipping members of Trade Associations with knowledge on roles and responsibilities of peer educators/focal persons and developing workplans for implementation at their work places. A total of 18 representatives of Trade Association members participated in the training programme.

METHODOLOGY
The training methodology was interactive in nature with participants put into groups to discuss and present issues related to each of the topics covered during the training.

OUTCOME
At the end of the training, each of the TA associations developed an action plan. These action plans were supposed to be developed further in consultation with their members. Also, the representatives of the various Trade Associations committed to educate their members after the training.
