The Ghana Skills Development Initiative (GSDI) will be organizing a Familiarization Training Programme for selected MCPs who are members of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA), in the Northern Region, specifically Tamale.
The main objective of the training programme is to introduce participants to the various instruments which will be used during the implementation of the Apprenticeship Training Programme and for them to be conversant with the usage of these instruments.
These instruments include:
- Occupational Standards
- Unit Specifications
- Workplace Guidelines
- Apprentice Logbook
- Learning and Facilitating material
Forty selected MCPs who are members of the GNTDA will be participating in this workshop. The uniqueness about this workshop is that Training Providers will also be part of this workshop. This is to give opportunity for MCPs to know and interact with the facilitators that are involve in the cooperate training.
Venue for the workshop will be Dabokpa Technical Institute and Tamale Vocational Training Institute respectively. Hence the first twenty MCPs will be attached to Dabokpa Technical Institute and the second batch will be at Tamale Vocational Training lnstitute.

First Batch - 19th to 20th August 2014
Second Batch - 21st to 22nd August 2014
