ATVET TRAINING COURSE

A graduation ceremony for the Agricultural TVET Competency-Based Training (ATVET CBT) Course in Oil Pam Value Chain has been organized for 101 students by Solidaridad West Africa in collaboration with the Ghana Skills Development Initiative (GSDI III), and the University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies (UCAES).

 

Role Model and Ambassador Videos as part of COTVET’s MyTVET campaign

TVET Role Model and Ambassador videos are being shared on COTVET’s and GSDI’s social medias sites, including youtube and facebook. The interested audience will see and hear the stories of many different personalities from divers TVET areas such as welding, spraying, electronics, garment, automotive, cosmetology and the agric sector. Apprentices, students, mastercrafts persons, facilitators, role models and ambassadors of Ghana's TVET sector are speaking out for technical and vocational education and training. Inauguration of Sector Skills Bodies and subsequent Study Tour to India

With a festive inauguration ceremony, the first Sector Skills Bodies in Ghana for the pilot sectors Agriculture, Construction and Tourism & Hospitality have been kicked-off in Accra. Organising partners of the event were the Ghana Skills Development Initiative (GSDI III) together with the Council for Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

Visit of Koforidua Technical Institute by the Education Committee of the German Federal Parliament

Members of the Education Committee of the German Federal Parliament (Deutscher Bundestag) visited one of GSDI’s regional partners, the Koforidua Technical Institute (KOTECH), in Ghana's beautiful Eastern Region. The delegation was accompanied with representatives of the German Embassy to Ghana, the Goethe Institute Ghana, the DAAD Ghana and GIZ.

ATVET Field Trip for insights into the Oil Palm Value Chain

In accordance to GSDI III’s activities in the ATVET field, namely the Oil Palm Value Chain, the GSDI III Steering Committee Meeting visited our project partner Norpalm Ghana Limited in the Western Region. After an introduction from the management team into the business and safty and security guidelines, we were given a tour through the Oil Palm Nursery as well as the oil production site.
